Sit with pen and paper and write down a list of the things that you feel most positive about in your life. If you are experiencing self esteem or self confidence issues this may take you a little time as you will probably have been thinking about the negatives more often than the positive values in your life.
You may have to ask others to help make up the list as you may have forgotten what your positive aspects are. Once completed (see if you can find 10 positive points) sit with your list and someone you feel comfortable with and talk to them about the person who makes up that positive list.
It will probably be a less than comfortable experience. Yet if you sat and talked about the negative things going on in your life it would probably feel entirely normal. You will need to bear feeling uncomfortable until you recognise this positive person as really being you. Then talk to yourself about these positive aspects as often as you can. Yes, it really is you.
