The setting for the course is in a fertile and mountainous area of Crete and is one of the more untouched areas of the island. There are stunning walks in the local gorges and surrounding olive groves and the local beaches are easily accessible.

Accommodation is in the small mountain village of Astrikas where the group stays in the village's only hotel. There are twelve rooms in all and it also has its own swimming pool. The hotel is used only by the group during the week. The large airy yoga room overlooking the mountains is also located in the hotel. All rooms are en suite with their own balcony. There is a mixture of twin and double rooms with limited availability for single occupancy. Usually course participants share with one other.

Astrikas is set two or three miles inland, high in the hills with stunning views and in a very quiet area. The local taverna provides excellent evening meals. These are all Greek dishes, traditionally prepared and served at very reasonable prices. Taxis to and from the village will take people to the local beaches or towns. Bike hire is also available from nearby Kastelli and the Venetian city of Chania is always a fascinating place to visit.
